Sophie Parker – Osteopath in Weston-super-Mare

Experienced Osteopath in Worle, Weston-super-Mare

Osteoapth and Clinic Owner

I’m Sophie Parker, an Osteopath and co-owner of Pure Health Osteopath Clinic in Worle, Weston-super-Mare.

I chose a career in Osteopathy because I enjoy understanding how the body works and helping people feel more comfortable and confident in their everyday lives. Over the years, I’ve developed particular interests in treating people during pregnancy, working with babies and children, and understanding persistent pain.

I take a patient-centred approach to treatment, taking the time to understand your symptoms, your circumstances and what you would like to achieve from treatment.

My approach to Osteopathy

I believe good Osteopathy starts with listening and understanding the individual, rather than simply treating the area where you feel pain.

Treatment may include hands-on Osteopathic techniques, joint mobilisation, massage, exercise and practical advice, depending on what is appropriate for you.

I have a particular interest in pain science and persistent pain. Pain can be influenced by a range of physical and non-physical factors, and understanding more about how pain works can help people make sense of their symptoms and feel more confident about managing them.

I also have additional training in medical acupuncture, which can be incorporated into treatment where appropriate.

Pregnancy, babies and children

I have a particular interest in supporting people during pregnancy and treating the musculoskeletal problems that can occur as the body changes throughout pregnancy.

Pregnancy can bring changes in posture, movement and the way your body copes with everyday activities. I aim to provide appropriate, comfortable treatment alongside practical advice to help you manage these changes.

I also have a keen interest in treating babies and children, and understand that treating younger patients requires a particularly gentle and considered approach.

If you’re unsure whether Osteopathy is appropriate for you or your child, please get in touch and we can discuss your circumstances.
